Reloder 16
When you buy a bottle of Alliant Smokeless Powder, you’re getting the product of a century’s worth of knowledge and the industry’s highest quality assurance standards. Ballistics labs routinely test for uniformity in chemical composition, grain size, and density.
The Swedish-built Bofors Reloder 16 is used in extreme heat on a regular basis. Utilizing cutting-edge TZ technology, it manipulates the material reaction to eliminate the material’s inherent tendency to produce more pressure at higher temperatures and less pressure at lower temperatures. Target shooters who are familiar with Reloder 23 and require temperature stability at long range will find Reloder 16 to be an excellent option. Within the 4350 degree F range, Reloder 16 burns at a rate that is marginally higher than that of Reloder 17. This makes it ideal for use with commonly-used cartridges such as the Spring 30-06 and Spring 270, as well as with 6.5mm target loads and strategies that require a stable temperature.
.
For such a long range, the propellant needs to be able to keep working even when heated to extremes. Similar to Alliant Powder® Reloder 23 and AR CompTM, Reloder 16 uses TZ® technology to achieve global stability by adjusting the material’s responsiveness and reducing the pressure increase that occurs at higher temperatures. The burn rate of Reloder 16 is slightly higher than that of Reloder 17, but it is still well below the 4350 temperature range. This makes the 6.5mm Caliber ideal for use with target loads and strategies that require consistent temperatures, as well as tried-and-true cartridges like the 30-06 and 270 from Spring.
No matter how hot or cold it gets, TZ® technology keeps the same amount of pressure inside. The Alliant Reloder 16 Rifle reloading powder has an increased burn rate over the Alliant Reloder 17 (while still remaining in the 4350 range) and a unique de-coating additive that aids in keeping barrels clean and thus facilitating accurate shooting. As a result, it functions admirably in standard cartouches for calibers like the 30/06 and 270 Win, with 6.5 mm target loads, and in tactical settings where temperature stability is essential.
The propellant needs to be stable over very high temperatures so that it can act continuously to achieve long-range accuracy. Alliant Powder® Reloder 16, along with Reloder 23 and AR CompTM, makes use of TZ® technology to achieve global stability by regulating the material’s reaction and boosting its innate resistance.
The reloading powders that members of our Forum have made available to each other can greatly enhance rifle accuracy. It is common knowledge among handloaders that certain powders are hard to come by. These past few months, it appears, Varget has been next to impossible to track down. As of this past Friday, August 28th, 2020, you can now purchase an extensive selection of these hitherto unavailable powders right here.
